Perry’s Optimist Club International admitted a new member to its ranks at this month’s meeting in the person of Courtney Straker, who was welcomed to the club Wednesday night and presented her certificate of membership by her fellow teller at the Great Western Bank in Perry, Jeanson E. Mena Mendez.
Straker and Mena Mendez were joined at the meeting by Trace Schmitt, a mortgage broker at the local financial services company. Schmitt is considering joining the Perry Optimists.
Optimist Club President Jenny Eklund welcomed new and recent members, thanked old members for their ongoing support and presided over the monthly business meeting.
