An SUV jumped the curb and crashed into the Wells Fargo bank building in downtown Perry about 11:40 a.m. Monday.
Woldegiorgis Tsige, 40, of 1624 Estella St. in Perry sustained no injuries when he drove his Saturn Vue SUV into the north side of the bank, crashing through an office window and causing significant damage to the building.
A Wells Fargo spokesperson said no employees were injured in the incident.
“Thankfully, we’re all okay,” the spokesperson said. The office was vacant at the time of the crash, she said.
“The person that works in there every Monday, she’s actually on paid time off,” the bank spokesperson said, “so nobody was in the office.”
The Perry Police Department responded and investigated the accident. No charges were filed.
