An SUV struck a tree on Lucinda Street between Fifth and Sixth streets Saturday night about 8:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
According to a witness, the vehicle was “headed south down” Sixth Street “at high rate of speed,” with “the driver was hanging out the door.” When the driver “tried to turn right to go down Lucinda,” the SUV ” overturned and ran right into the tree, and about six teenagers were chasing the vehicle while it all went down.”
The vehicle appeared to sustain significant front-end damage.
The Perry Police Department and Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident.
