Tenth annual Kids Fest coming Saturday to Perry Public Library

Fun for all ages ias free for the taking at Saturday's Perry Public Library Kids Fest.

The Perry Public Library will host the tenth annual Kids Fest on Saturday, June 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The family-friendly and budget-friendly event will launch the library’s summer program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” Attractions will include the Foam Blaster, bubble creations, PBS Kids STEAM stations, balloon twister, family photos, dunk tank, giant Connect Four game and a petting zoo.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department will host a lunch fundraiser, with $1 buying a tenderloin sandwich or hot dog along with chips, cookie and water. Fareway donates the water and Hy-Vee the buns.

Other sponsors include the city of Perry, Tyson Fresh Meats, Hometown Heritage, the Bock Family Foundation, PBS Kids and the Friends of the Perry Public Library.

The Kids Fest was established in 2013 through the leadership of longtime friend of the Perry Public Library John Glass of Perry. The seventh annual festival was held in June 2019 but was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
