Three bicyclists were injured Wednesday about 7:45 p.m. when they were struck by a vehicle as they pedalled southbound on County Road R22 in Dallas County.
According to a report of the Iowa State Patrol, Renae Deaver, 36, of Dallas Center was driving southbound on County Road R22 in a 2011 Toyota Sienna. The report said Deaver failed to see observe the three riders before striking them.
Trooper Scott Bogdanski reported the bikers — Todd Bindel, 36, of West Des Moines, Brian Terhark, 49, of Clive and Chad Roethler, 45, of Urbandale — were knocked into the west ditch along the county blacktop.
All three cyclists were wearing helmets.
Bindel was transported to Mercy Medical Center by the Dallas County EMS. Terhark was transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center by the Dallas County EMS. Roethler was transported to Mercy West Lakes by a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff.
