
ADEL — Junior Alyssa Kruger was second overall, with seniors Brooke Huntington fourth and Sarah Sweet sixth as the Perry girls, playing their best golf of the year, claimed second place at Monday’s Raccoon River Conference meet at River Valley.
The trio earned All-RRC honors, which are given to the top 10 individual finishers. Kruger earned extra recognition was the runner-up medalist with her 48-42–90, three strokes behind RRC champ Somer Sinnard of Carroll, who carded a 41-46–87.
Carroll won the title with 377 strokes, with Perry stalking close behind at 390. ADM was well back, at 427, for third place, with Ballard (439), Carlisle (447), Winterset (492) and Bondurant-Farrar (523) completing the field. Boone does not participate in girls golf.
Kruger’s round included five pars, with Brooke Huntington having two pars and the only birdie for Perry on the day as she turned in a 46-47–93. Sweet, who broke 50 for nine holes for the first time two weeks ago, did so again Monday on both the front and back nine in Adel. She had two pars en route to a career-best 48-47–95.
Sklyar Cunningham had two pars and also scored for Perry with a round of 60-52–112. Delaney Eiteman (56-66–122) and Madyson Hill (64-71–135) each had one par, but did not have their scores used toward the Perry team total.
Sara Sweeney (45-47–92), Kyla Boes (49-50–99) and Josie Pettitt (49-50–99) joined Sinnard in scoring for the champion Tigers.
Lindsay Lange led ADM with a 48-52–100, with Madison Smith Ballard’s low scorer at 52-51–103 while Macey Brauer shot a 51-44–95 to guide Carlisle. Bondurant-Farrar’s Briley Hick had the low round for the Lady Jays with a 54-51–105, with a 59-55–114 from Madison Wauters leading Winterset.
