CARROLL — The game plan worked so well the first time around it would be hard to blame the Carroll boys cagers from trying the same thing over again.
Carroll had used a 37-16 third quarter eruption to blow past host Perry, 78-60, Dec. 1. On Tuesday the Tigers used a 26-10 third frame to turn an 11-point halftime margin into a 27-point gulf en route to a 77-54 win in Raccoon River Conference play.
The Tigers (8-5, 7-2) sank 10 3-pointers in the win to just three from the Bluejays (4-12, 2-7), with the hosts hitting 9-of-11 at the free throw line while the guests landed 11-of-16 from the stripe.
Carroll held a 15-10 lead after one quarter and slowing expanded upon their lead to take a 35-24 edge into the locker room. The third quarter ended any doubts, with the home team leading, 61-34, with eight minutes to play.
Cooper Ross had 17 first-half points en route to leading all scorers with 30 points, with Justin Mohr adding 13 points and Colby Vincent 12, all of which came after the intermission. Buomkuoth Bol had nine points and Tyler Tunning six, with five points from Chase Gladden and two from Taylor Peterson-Schroeder capping the scoring.
Rashon Ivory had 17 points and Connor Nielsen 14 for Perry. Brendan Ivory had six points, Drew Levan, Tanner Duffy, and Mark Campos four apiece, with Aaron Lockwood tallying three points and Michael Meyer two.
The RRC slate continues for the next three games on the Perry schedule. The Bluejays host ADM Friday and Winterset Tuesday, with a visit to Ballard slated for Feb. 2.
