CARROLL — The Carroll offense pounded out 13 hits and turned six Perry errors into seven unearned runs in claiming a 12-2 Raccoon River Conference softball victory Wednesday.

The Tigers (3-3) plated two runs in each of the first two innings and three in the third, with the Jayettes (0-5) scoring single runs in the second and third frames. Four Carroll runs in the bottom of the fourth and a final tally with no outs in the sixth ended the contest.

Jayna Kenney had a single and a double for Perry, with Kennedy Tunink, Molly Lutmer and Macy Killmer also providing base hits. Killmer and courtesy runner Hannah Peterson each scored for the guests, who went without drawing a walk but also without striking out in the game.

Kenney yielded 11 runs (five earned) on nine hits in three innings. She finished with three strikeouts. Maci Tunink tossed two innings of relief. She allowed an unearned run on four hits while making her first varsity appearance.

Sydney Haaskenson allowed five hits in six frames to collect the win in the ring.

Chloe Gallegos had three hits and scored four times, with Ashley Onken hitting a two-run home run, a single and a double. Josie Ayala helped the hosts with a home run, with Vanessa Ayala adding two singles and a double.

Perry is at Boone tonight and will host Madrid Friday. The Friday game has been set as Senior Night, as teams are honoring their seniors early in the event the season should end before being able to do so.
