Esequiel Trevino Jr., 30, of Adel was arrested Tuesday on charges of willful injury causing bodily injury, going armed with intent, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of violation of a no-contact order.

An Adel man allegedly assaulted a sleeping Lorimor man with a tire iron Tuesday in Adel.

Esequiel Trevino Jr., 30, of 1311 Pleasant St., Adel, was charged with willful injury causing bodily injury, going armed with intent, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of violation of a no-contact order.

The incident began about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Pleasant Street, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of an assault.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that “he was sleeping inside” the residence “when he woke up to being hit in the left shoulder” with “a four-way tire iron” wielded by Trevino, according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “a red mark” on his “left shoulder,” according to court records.

A witness confirmed the victim’s account of the incident.

Security camera footage also allegedly showed Trevino breaking a window on the victim’s vehicle with the same tire iron, according to court records.

An active no-contact order bars Trevino from the Pleasant Street property, according to court records.

A warrant for Trevino’s arrest was ordered May 23 and served May 24. Trevino is held in the Dallas County Jail without bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 3 in Dallas County District Court.

Trevino was arrested in Adel in November on charges of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, child endangerment with injury and three counts of child endangerment. He was convicted of violating the case’s no-contact order Feb. 23 in Dallas County District Court. He was later charged with further violating the no-contact order on April 15. The case is pending in Dallas County District Court.
