Treva Melton, 106, of Perry passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Eden Acres Campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in rural Bouton. Visitation will be Monday, July 31 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the West Linn Cemetery near Linden, Iowa. The services will be live streamed.

Treva Leota Melton was born Oct. 5, 1916, near Redfield, Iowa, to Frank and Victoria (Hutchins) Meacham.

She graduated from the Washington Township School.

Treva was united in marriage to Harold Theron Melton in Missouri.

She helped Harold on the farm and later worked at Carolyn’s Hallmark in Perry.

Treva was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Bouton.

She served as a 4-H Leader for many years and enjoyed studying genealogy and travelling.

In death she rejoins her husband, Harold Melton; parents, Frank and Victoria Meacham; siblings, Floyd Meacham, Ivan Meacham, Leonard Meacham, Dean Meacham, Dorothy Newbrough, Louise Miller and Phyllis Ayres.

Left to cherish Treva’s memory are her children, Kay Gantt of Cedar Rapids and Keith (Nadine) Melton of Reliance, Tennessee; grandchildren, Dave Starry, Tony (Mary) Starry, Eric (Kimberly) Starry, Angela (John) Dostal, Bryan (Lauri) Melton, Jonathan (Carolyn) Melton, Adam (Savanna) Melton and Grant Melton; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Iannantuono, Brennan Starry, Connor Starry, Jayden Dostal, Eleanora Melton, Thèrése Melton, Haley Melton, Dylan Melton and Trinity Larson; a great-grand dog, Sonny; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden, Braysen and Ambrose Iannantuono; sisters, Ruby Lentz and Donna Belgarde; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be given to the Perry Lutheran Homes or the Suncrest Hospice and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
