Each is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $1 million bond.
The Perry couple were arrested May 18 on felony charges in connection with the death of their adopted daughter, Sabrina Ray, 16, who weighed only 56 pounds when she was found dead May 12 at 1708 First Ave. in Perry, according to the Iowa office of the State Medical Examiner.
Marc and Misty Ray have each been charged with one count of child endangerment resulting in death, four counts of child endangerment resulting in serious injury and three counts of neglect or abandonment of a dependent person.
Representing the state as prosecuting attorneys were First Assistant Dallas County Attorney Jeannine R. Gilmore and Assistant Dallas County Attorney Stacy L. Ritchie.
Marc Ray’s defense attorney at the bond hearing was Gerald B. Feuerhelm. Misty Ray’s defense attorney was Sean P. Spellman.
Hulse agreed to delay ruling on the request for reduced bond until the defense attorneys gather more information.
An arraignment was scheduled for June 9, and the jury trial was set to begin Aug. 28.
