The number of Perry residents reportedly having windows in their vehicles or homes shot out by BBs rose to three Thursday.
Two incidents occurred Thursday and followed a shooting Wednesday when a house in the 1600 block of Seventh Street had its windows shot out by what looked like the teen occupants of a passing vehicle, according to the victim.
In Thursday’s shootings, a caller in the 900 block of Willis Avenue reported to the Perry Police Department at 9 a.m. Thursday that sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and the time of her call, “someone broke a window to her vehicle, which was parked at the parking lot across the street” from the Perry Police Department.
An officer responded to the scene and determined the woman’s vehicle “had been shot by at least three BBs on the rear tailgate and window. The window was completely shattered out.”
Later Thursday, a caller in the 1700 block of W. Third Street said “he got home” about 3 p.m. and “noticed a bullet hole through his back passenger side window of his vehicle and the side window to his house.”
The caller reported the damage to the Perry Police Department at 6 p.m., saying he “wasn’t sure what to do, which is why he didn’t report it sooner.” An officer responded and determined “two vehicles were shot with a BB gun, and a window of the house was also shot.”
The incidents are under investigation by the police.
About 11:30 p.m. Thursday, a caller to the Perry Police Department said he knew “a potential location for where the vehicle in the drive-by BB gun shootings may be.” An officer responded to the location but did not find the vehicle.
