Minnesota Democrat Sen. Amy Klobuchar will meet supporters Sunday at the Hotel Pattee in Perry.

Perry-area voters will encounter another Democratic presidential hopeful when U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar visits the Hotel Pattee Sunday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m.

Registration is recommended for attendees. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

After taking a degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1985, Klobuchar was a corporate lawyer before being elected Hennepin County Attorney in 1999. She was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2007.

During the Supreme Court nomination hearings for Brett Kavanaugh in 2018, Kavanaugh gave petulant responses to Klobuchar’s questions about whether he had ever experienced memory loss after consuming alcohol. Kavanaugh later apologized.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s September 2018 questions about whether U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh had ever experienced memory loss after consuming alcohol drew a truculent response from the alleged sexual abuser, whose appointment to the high court the Senate later confirmed.
