UPDATE: Bellevue man in custody Sunday

Christopher Eugene Prichard, 56, of Bellevue was arrested Sunday morning. He is a person of interest in the investigation into the shooting death of his wife.

BELLEVUE, Iowa — A Bellevue was taken into custody without incident early Sunday by law enforcement officials.

Christopher Eugene Prichard, 56, of 35393 Highway 52, was arrested on Jackson County warrants for violation of a no-contact order. He is a person of interest in the investigation into the death of his wife, Angela Prichard, 55, whose lifeless body was found Saturday morning.

She died from an apparent gunshot wound. An autopsy by the office of the Iowa State Medical Examiner is scheduled for Sunday.

Christopher Prichard is held in the Jackson County jail, according to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

The investigation into the death of Angela Prichard is ongoing, the DCI said. The investigation is jointly conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Bellevue Police Department, Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Jackson County Conservation.
