The Perry St. Jude Council 1243 of the Knights of Columbus will hold the Friday, March 13 Lenten fish fry with the permission of the state K of C organization. The nationwide K of C Supreme Council ordered the cancellation of all public Knights events out of concerns for public safety amid the CORVID-19 pandemic, but the Iowa Knights will fry with faith.
“The Iowa State Deputy was able to get an exemption from the national Supreme Council so that Iowa councils can have fish fries,” said Grand Knight Jon Wilson of Perry, “so our Fish Fry on March 13 is back on!”
It was not immediately clear whether future cancellations will be necessary, but the March 13 dinner will be held as planned. Information on succeeding weeks will be provided when available, Wilson said.
Wilson said the Perry K of Cs extended its thanks to all who attend the weekly servings and said he hopes everyone takes the necessary precautions to avoid the further spread of the virus.
