A Perry man was killed and two others were injured Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash on Iowa Highway 141 near D Avenue south of Dawson.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, Kristopher Dean Beller, 26, of Linden was traveling southbound on D Avenue (County Road P46) from Dawson in a 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup when “for an unknown reason” his truck “entered onto Highway 141 and struck” a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by Donald Charles Motz, 69, of Perry, who was traveling eastbound on Iowa Highway 141.
Motz was killed in the collision. A passenger, Donna Weishaar Motz, 73, of Perry, was seriously injured and lifeflighted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Beller was injured and transported by Dallas County EMS to Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
The circumstances of the crash, which occurred about 9:22 p.m., are under investigation, according to the ISP report.
The Iowa State Patrol, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Perry Police Department, Dallas County EMS and Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded.
