Anne Sinzobakwira, 38, of Perry was arrested Saturday on charges of first-degree kidnapping and third-degree sexual abuse-forcible rape.

A Perry woman was arrested Saturday on felony charges of kidnapping and rape.

Anne Sinzobakwira, 38, of 2801 First Ave., Perry, was charged with first-degree kidnapping and third-degree sexual abuse-forcible rape.

The incident began Friday about 9:30 p.m., when officers of the Perry Police Department responded to the 2800 block of First Avenue on a report of a missing juvenile.

Officers made contact with the juvenile’s parents, who said they believed the juvenile was at Sinzobakwira’s residence. When officers attempted to make contact with Sinzobakwira, the juvenile was seen running from the back door of Sinzobakwira’s residence and toward the residence of the parents.

According to court records, the juvenile in an interview with officers of the Perry Police Department said Sinzobakwira allegedly lured the juvenile from the juvenile’s bedroom and to Sinzobakwira’s residence under the threat of physical harm.

Once at her residence, Sinzobakwira allegedly induced the juvenile to perform a sexual act with Sinzobakwira in the bedroom of the residence.

According to the juvenile in the interview with police, when the police officers knocked on the door of Sinzobakwira’s residence, Sinzobakwira fled from the bedroom area to the bathroom area, and the juvenile ran out the back door of the residence and to the parents’ residence.

Based upon the juvenile’s accurate description of Sinzobakwira’s bedroom and its contents, Sinzobakwira was placed under arrest by officers of the Perry Police Department.

Sinzobakwira is held without bond in the Dallas County Jail. She is scheduled to make an initial appearance Sunday in Dallas County District Court.

Sinzobakwira was convicted of assault, third-degree harassment and reckless use of fire or explosives in 2019 in Dallas County District Court.
