
Citing the Dallas County Sheriff’s office as their source, the Des Moines metro media is reporting that two Perry youths were killed and a third was critically injured in the crash on Iowa Highway 141 Thursday morning.
The names of the victims have not been made public except within the Perry school system, where the youths are students.
The accident occurred about 7:45 a.m. on Iowa Highway 141 between I Court and Diagonal Road, where a straight truck, owned by Supreme Swine Nutrition of Elvaston, Illinois, collided with a passenger car that reportedly crossed the center line during heavy snowfall.
The Perry Police Department advised ThePerryNews.com shortly before 9 a.m. that two injured persons were transported to the Dallas County Hospital by Dallas County EMS.
The incident was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol, and the state highway was reopened to through traffic shortly before noon.
The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Dallas County EMS and Iowa State Patrol responded.
