An Urbandale man was arrested Monday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in their apartment.
Kyle Cleon Coleman, 31, of 4420 142nd St., Urbandale, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 6 p.m. Monday in the 4400 block of 142nd Street, where Coleman allegedly “did take the victim by the hair and pulled hard enough to cause pain in the victim” and “did push or strike (open hand) the victim, causing her to fall to the ground and hit her head on the wooden support of the bed in their apartment,” according to court records.
The victim was also allegedly “struck in the face (open hand) by” Coleman, “causing her lower lip to bleed,” according to court records.
Coleman told officers of the Urbandale Police Department “that he did not know how the victim got the bloody lip,” according to court records.
Coleman is held in the Dallas County on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 6 in Dallas County District Court.
