An Urbandale man was arrested Saturday after allegedly assaulting an Urbandale woman in the home.
Justin Todd Ware, 44, of 4440 142nd St., Urbandale, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood and first-degree harassment.
The incident began about 10 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 4400 block of 142nd Street, where officers of the Urbandale Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Ware allegedly “grabbed ahold of her neck with both of his hands, using his thumbs to create pressure on her neck, causing difficulty breathing,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that Ware allegedly “pushed her to the ground” and said, “I’m gonna kill you,” and “If you scream, I will kill you. I have a gun,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “redness on her neck and minor carpet burns on her right elbow and knee,” according to court records.
Ware is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $4,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 26 in Dallas County District Court.
