Van Meter woman allegedly assaults Van Meter man Saturday

Jennifer Renee Webb, 45, of Van Meter was arrested Saturday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

A Van Meter woman allegedly assaulted a Van Meter man in the home Saturday.

Jennifer Renee Webb, 45, of 36602 Osage Ave., Van Meter, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 6 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 36600 block of Osage Avenue in Van Meter, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Webb allegedly “shoved” the victim and “hit” the victim “a couple of times,” according to court records.

A witness told the deputies that he saw Webb allegedly assault the victim and “spit on him,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “fresh blood on his fingers,” according to court records.

Webb is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 21 in Dallas County District Court.

Webb was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in November in Polk County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
