Vandehaar to be honored Sept. 28 for long career in health service

Longtime Dallas County Hospital administrative team member Donna Vandehaar will be honored at a retirement party Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Dallas County Hospital. The public is invited.

Donna Vandehaar, chief operating officer (COO) at Dallas County Hospital, will retire Sept. 30 after serving in the healthcare field for 45 years.

During her 11 years at DCH, Vandehaar wore several hats, serving at various times as chief clinical officer, interim chief executive officer (CEO) and COO.

“Donna has been instrumental in leading DCH in all quality measures,” said DCH CEO Angela Mortoza.

Vandehaar also helped forge local partnerships with the Des Moines Area Community College Perry VanKirk Career Academy and the Perry Community School District in the development of health occupations courses.

In order to recognize Vandehaar for her passion and leadership throughout the Dallas County community, a retirement celebration will be held for Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Dallas County Hospital.

The public is invited to attend the reception and wish Vandehaar well in retirement.
