The ribbon was cut Friday morning on the new offices of VisionPoint, a wealth management and financial advising service at 902 First Ave. in Perry, in a ceremony sponsored by the Perry Chamber of Commerce.
Ted Smith welcomed about 25 Chamber members to the event. Smith is the Vision Point financial advisor in Perry. Andrew Susanin, executive vice president of VisionPoint, and Beth Denker, office manager in Perry, were also on hand with coffee and donuts on the frosty morning.
VisionPoint offers a variety of retirement-planning and wealth management services, including equities, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and fee-based programs.
“If you are prepared to take the next step in your journey toward success, please contact me today,” Smith said. “I look forward to collaborating with you to help you attain your vision.”
Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, VisionPoint offers securities offered through LPL Financial, described by Smith as “the largest brokerage no one’s every heard of.” In fact, LPL Financial is the second-largest independent broker-dealer in the U.S., with more than 14,000 financial advisors and $500 billion in advisory and brokerage assets as of 2016.
Smith said he began his full-time career in financial services in 1999.
“Since then, I have worked with a major financial planning firm, a major brokerage firm and now what I believe to be the pinnacle of options in this field: the independent registered investment advisor at VisionPoint.”
Smith lives with his wife, Valeri, and their four children near Boone. His spare time is devoted to church activities, Boy Scouts and acting in the community theater.
