Banners at the 2017 Perry Latino Festival read, "Immigrants Make America Great," and "No Human Being is Illegal," and the truths are no less true in 2025.

The 2025 ¡Viva Perry! Latino Festival will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. with a parade along Willis Avenue from 12th Street to Pattee Park.

Day-long activities in the park will include Hispanic foods, music, dancing and children’s activities.

The Hispanics United for Perry (HUP) group, which sponsors the annual festival, will present its annual citizen-of-the-year award to the Perry Fire Department in ceremonies starting at 4 p.m.

The Perry Public Library will also offer activities for youngsters, including giant bubbles, balloons, face painting and a petting zoo from noon to 3 p.m.

Musical entertainment will include DJs and dancing by Los Laureles at noon and Des Moines-based Jóvenes Embajadores at 2:30 p.m. The band 515 will perform all day.

The event is free, but HUP accepts donations for its Perry High School scholarship fund.
