WOODWARD — The Woodward-Granger softball team had one strong rally Tuesday against visiting Panorama. Unfortunately for the host Hawks, they needed two surges, and eventually fell, 11-8, in WCAC action. The loss followed a 12-0 setback to host AC/GC Monday.

W-G (3-15, 1-10) led, 2-1, after three frames Tuesday, but fell into a 6-2 hole after five Panorama (7-10, 4-7) runs in the top of the fifth. The Hawks plated four runs in their ensuing at-bat to knot the score at 6-all, but five more Panther runs created an 11-6 gulf.

The Hawks scored twice in the seventh, but could not complete the comeback in taking the WCAC loss.

NataLeigh Herron tossed 5-1/3 innings and Rian Jamison 1-2/3 for the Hawks. Herron allowed seven runs on six hits, with Jamison yielding four runs on six hits, with Herron walking two and striking out four.

Jamison tossed all 3-2/3 frames against AC/GC Monday (9-8, 5-6). She was touched for 12 runs (four earned) on 11 hits and five walks while striking out two.

Chloe Houge, Georgia Simmons, Allie Moore, and Jamison had hits for the Hawks, with Ava Petersen and Bella McDivitt each drawing a walk.
