W-G junior high girls place second at state pentathlon

IOWA CITY — A pair of eighth graders and two seventh grade girls competed for Woodward-Granger Saturday at the Iowa Association of Track Coaches all-class junior high state pentathlon.

Host Iowa City West edged W-G for the team title, with Hawk seventh grader Jaidyn Achenbach second individually while eighth grader Lauren Rodgers was fifth.

Grade eight student Maddi Rodgers and seventh grader Chloe Creger also competed for W-G.

The pentathlon features the shot put, high jump, long jump, 100 dash, and 400 run.
