The Perry Class of 2020 enters Dewey Field Saturday evening for their graduation ceremony.

Oh, the stories they will have to tell!

The 2020 graduating classes across America will, doubtless, regale their children and grandchildren with tales of the unusual end of their high school careers.

On Saturday Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger told the PHS Class of 2020 he would not remember them as the class who a worldwide virus wreaked havoc upon but rather would remember their reaction to having their lives so interrupted.

“I will not remember 2020 as the pandemic class,” he said. “The virus is not going to define you. You will be remembered for overcoming adversity.”

A total of 164 diplomas were awarded Saturday, marking 2020 as one of the largest classes at PHS in recent memory.
