Linard Stanley Walker, 35, of Waukee was arrested Saturday on a charge of assault.

A Waukee man was not very sporting Saturday afternoon when he allegedly spat in the face of a female staff member at the Waukee YMCA and offered to step outside and fight her.

Linard Stanley Walker, 35, of 2355 S.E. Taylor Court, Waukee, was charged with assault.

The incident began about 1:15 p.m. Saturday at 210 N. Warrior Lane in Waukee, where Walker “got into a disagreement with staff” at the Young Men’s Christian Association exercise facility.

A female staff member made contact with Walker and “explained to him the issue,” and Walker allegedly “became aggressive towards” the staff member and “spit into her face and tried to get her outside to fight him,” according to court records.

“Multiple witnesses on scene” told officers of the Waukee Police Department that they saw Walked get “in her face” and try “to get her outside to fight,” according to court records.

Walker was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

Walked was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-display or use of a weapon in January 2022 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment in 2015 in Polk County District Court.
