Brian Douglas Martinson, 61, of Waukee was arrested Sunday on charges of third-degree harassment and interference with official acts.

A Waukee man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly harassing a Waukee woman in the home and then interfering with law enforcement’s investigation of the incident.

Brian Douglas Martinson, 61, of 1115 Locust St., Waukee, was charged with third-degree harassment and interference with official acts.

The incident began about 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Locust Street in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

According to court records, Martinson allegedly harassed the female victim “by intimidating, annoying and placing her in fear” as he “would follow” the victim “around the house, while screaming obscenities at her, not allowing” her “to get away from him.”

Martinson allegedly “verbally abused” the victim in front of her adult son, according to court records.

Martinson also allegedly interfered with the officers’ communications with the victim, including coming “within arm’s reach” of an officer’s “weapon side” until the officer “straight-arm shoved his shoulder to gain space away from him,” according to court records.

Martinson is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $600 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 14 in Dallas County District Court.
