A Waukee man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly tackling a Waukee woman in their apartment.

Amadu Dukulay, 36, of 1130 S.E. Olson Dr., Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.

The incident began about 10 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of S.E. Olson Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Dukulay allegedly “tackled her to the ground to try to take her car keys from her while she was inside the apartment,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that “she was not injured” but that Dukulay “tackled her and twisted her wrist around trying to take the keys from her,” according to court records.

A witness confirmed the victim’s account, according to court records.

Dukulay was held in the Dallas County Jail on $300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference March 16 in Dallas County District Court.
