A Waukee man was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly slapping a 4-year-old across the face.
Suad Samardzic, 44, of 284 N.W. Prairieside Dr., Waukee, was charged with child endangerment-bodily injury.
The incident began about 9:15 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 200 block of Prairieside Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded.
The officers made contact with a 4-year-old who “had a red mark on his face,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with Samardzic, who “admitted to slapping him across the face” for “talking back,” according to court records.
Samardzic was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 17 in Dallas County District Court.
