A Waukee man was arrested Saturday after a traffic stop allegedly disclosed a pistol and THC vape pen in his possession.
Austin Scott Priddy, 28, of 222 S.E. Boulder Court, Waukee, was charged with person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons and first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana.
The incident began about 11 p.m. Saturday in the 14900 block of Summit Drive in Clive, where an officer of the Clive Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a 2023 Kia Sportage that was traveling 74 mph in a 50 mph zone.
The officer made contact with Priddy, the driver of the speeding vehicle, who “admitted admitted to having a THC pen in the vehicle” and also “admitted to having a firearm in the glove box,” according to court records.
Priddy was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 4 in Dallas County District Court.
