A Waukee teenager was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Sunday.

Angel Paul Hilario, 19, of 763 Collins Dr., Waukee, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began Sunday about 4:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Collins Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who said that Hilario “was hitting her” and “shoving her” and “slamming her with the door,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “a small red mark directly on and around her right elbow” and “a small red mark on the outside of her left shoulder,” according to court records.

The victim “refused to let officers take pictures of her injuries,” according to court records.

Hilario was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 23 in Dallas County District Court.

Hilario was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and carrying weapons in May in Polk County District Court.
