A Waukee woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly sucker punched the father of her child.
Deana Marie Johnson, 26, of 125 Bailey Circle, Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 1:45 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of Bailey Circle, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a caller “hearing screaming
coming from inside of the residence,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with the victim, who presented with “a significantly swollen upper lip” and “a small laceration on the bottom or inside portion of his upper lip,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that Johnson “struck him ‘sucker punch’ style multiple times while in her vehicle,” according to court records.
Johnson was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 3 in Dallas County District Court.
