Merrymakers in the Sportsman Park near Dawson grew a little too zealous Saturday night, in the opinion of the park’s groundskeeper, who grew uneasy when the tipsy revelers began to shoot off “professional-grade fireworks” about 10 p.m., according to law enforcement radio traffic.
The groundskeeper reported the partygoers refused to comply with the park rules and were defiant toward the groundskeeper’s authority.
Three Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to the riparian reserve and reminded the celebrants of their responsibilities as renters of the Sportman’s Lodge.
It did not appear any arrests were made or citations issued by law enforcement.
