A West Des Moines man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Joshua Allyn Paschall, 38, of 355 88th St., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of 88th Street, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to court records, during the course of a domestic dispute, Paschall “had the victim pinned against a door and was hitting and pulling her hair, causing hair to be pulled out and scratches to the victim’s forehead.”
Paschall is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 21 in Dallas County District Court.
Paschall was convicted of third-degree harassment in 2015 in Marshall County District Court. He was convicted of disorderly conduct-fighting or violent behavior in 2018 in Polk County District Court.
