A West Des Moines man was arrested Saturday after allegedly injuring a law enforcement officer while trying to flee the scene of a domestic disturbance.
Curtis Irvin Bigsby, 39, of 950 67th St., West Des Moines, was charged with interference with official acts-bodily injury.
The incident began about 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of 67th Street, where an officer of the West Des Moines Police Department was investigating a domestic disturbance.
The officer directed Bigsby’s to remain on the scene, but Bigsby allegedly chose to “intentionally disregard” the officer’s direction and instead “attempted to flee,” according to court records.
The officer “suffered an injury” to his hand in the process of detaining Bigsby.
Bigsby is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
Bigsby was convicted of eluding in 2020 in Polk County District Court.
