
A West Des Moines man was arrested July 22 after allegedly punching his sister in the mouth in the course of a domestic dispute.
Zackary Salvatore Trombino, 27, of 1260 S. Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and public intoxication.
The incident occurred July 22 about 3 a.m. in the 1200 block of Jordan Creek Parkway, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a fight.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that she and Trombino “had gotten into an argument” that resulted in Trombino’s allegedly “striking the victim in her face with a closed fist, causing a small laceration to her lip,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “dried blood” on “the left side of the victim’s lip,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with Trombino, who allegedly “exhibited signs of intoxication, such as slurred speech, bloodshot, watery eyes and an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person,” according to court records.
Trombino allegedly blew a .216 on a preliminary breath test, according to court records.
Trombino was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for arraignment Aug. 17 in Dallas County District Court.
