
A West Des Moines man was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines woman in the home.
Diego Sobrevilla Isaias, 25, of 204 S. 64th St., West Des Moines, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury and first-offense public intoxication.
The incident began about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 200 block of 64th Street, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Sobrevilla Isaias allegedly “choked her,” and she was “unable to breather,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “small scratches on the bottom of her chin as well as a small abrasion,” according to court records.
Sobrevilla Isaias Ray is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 28 in Dallas County District Court.
