A West Des Moines man was arrested Saturday after allegedly threatening a West Des Moines woman with a knife in front of their child.
Dillon Ynez Larsen, 26, of 6387 Vista Dr., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-use or display of a weapon and child endangerment.
The incident began about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 6300 block of Vista Drive, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a female “being threatened with a knife,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that during the course of a domestic dispute, Larsen allegedly began “grabbing a knife and threatening to destroy items in the apartment,” and he “proceeded to stab a mattress in the bedroom,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that Larsen’s actions also allegedly included “knocking her on the ground,” according to court records.
A minor child was present during the incident, according to court records.
Larsen is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $4,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 14 in Dallas County District Court.
Larsen was convicted of domestic abuse assault-impeding air-blood flow causing injury in 2020 in Polk County District Court.
