A West Des Moines man was arrested Saturday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a March incident in which he allegedly assaulted his wife in the home.
David Matthew Wasil, 34, of 950 67th St., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault and obstruction of emergency communications.
The incident occurred about 9 a.m. March 14 in the 900 block of 67th Street in West Des Moines, where a verbal dispute between Wasil and his wife allegedly became physical.
In the course of the dispute, Wasil allegedly “bent the victim’s wrist back, causing her pain,” and he allegedly “placed his hands on her upper chest and neck area in
an aggressive manner,” according to court records.
Wasil also allegedly “slapped the victim’s cell phone out of her hand while the victim was attempting to unlock her phone in order to call 911” during the course of the domestic dispute, according to curt records.
A warrant for Wasil’s arrest was ordered March 15 in Dallas County District Court and served April 15. Wasil was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to his release on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference May 23 in Dallas County District Court.
