Dennis Matthew Ireland, 50, of West Des Moines was arrested Wednesday on a charge of first-degree harassment.

A West Des Moines man was arrested Wednesday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with an October incident in which he allegedly harassed his step-daughter after she moved out of their shared residence.

Dennis Matthew Ireland, 50, of 6950 Stagecoach Dr., West Des Moines, was charged with first-degree harassment.

The victim reported in late October to West Des Moines Police Department that her step-father, Ireland, “was engaged in an ongoing harassment campaign against her and her current boyfriend,” according to court records.

The harassment involved Ireland’s allegedly accessing the victim’s “social media accounts remotely and making accusations about the victim being abducted by her boyfriend” and to Ireland’s allegedly making “derogatory sexual comments about the victim and the posting of a redacted nude image of the victim on her own Facebook page,” according to court records.

Ireland was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash-only bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

Ireland was arrested on a Polk County warrant Nov. 3 on a charge of third-degree harassment in connection with an incident in Urbandale in which he allegedly “drove to the residence of the victim and approached the house and began screaming into an open window,” according to court records. The case is pending in Polk County District Court.
