A West Des Moines man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Monday in connection with incidents last September in which he allegedly possessed and distributed videos of child pornography.
Andrew Martin Stearns, 27, of 595 88th St., West Des Moines, was charged with four counts of first-offense purchase/possess a medium depicting a minor in a sex act.
The investigation began in September 2024, when the Dallas County District Court granted the Urbandale Police Department a warrant to search Stearns’ residence and vehicle.
The search disclosed 11 videos that were “clearly child sexual abuse material,” according to court records.
A warrant for Stearns’ arrest was ordered June 16 in Dallas County District Court and served Monday. Stearns is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $20,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 3 in Dallas County District Court.
