Megan Wilson Buck, 40, of West Des Moines was arrested Friday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.

A West Des Moines woman was arrested Friday night after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend while driving and allegedly endangered her child as a result.

Megan Wilson Buck, 40, of 8601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.

The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 8600 block of Westown Parkway, where Buck allegedly “repeatedly struck her boyfriend in the face, causing several lacerations,” according to court records.

Officers of the West Des Moines Police Department made contact with Buck, who “admitted to striking her boyfriend during the argument,” according to court records.

Buck’s minor child witnessed the alleged assault and “was visibly distraught, crying and scared” as a consequence, according to court records.

Buck was held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
