
A West Des Moines woman was arrested Friday night after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines man in the course of a domestic dispute.
Rebecca Maranda Cossolotto, 31, of 8610 E. P. True Parkway, West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 8600 block of E. P. True Parkway, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with Cossolotto, who told the officers “that she bit the victim” and “slapped the victim at some point during the altercation,” according to court records.
The officers observed a “bite on the victim’s left hand” that “was bleeding,” according to court records.
Cossolotto was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 7 in Dallas County District Court.
