Tamatha Ann Laforce, 54, of West Des Moines was arrested Wednesday on charges of public intoxication and as a fugitive from justice.

A West Des Moines woman was injured in a fall while “heavily intoxicated” Wednesday night in Waukee, which led to her arrest.

Tamatha Ann Laforce, 54, of 1122 62nd St., West Des Moines, was charged with public intoxication and as a fugitive from justice.

The incident began about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Sixth and Laurel streets in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report that a woman was seen to “stumble down the sidewalk and fall in a driveway,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with Laforce, who “had hit her head and was bleeding,” according to court records.

Laforce “attempted to run from police multiple times” but “was unable to keep her balance,” according to court records. She declined to take a preliminary breath test.

Laforce is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a hearing Nov. 10 in Dallas County District Court.
