The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Des Moines has issued a wind
advisory in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday.
Northwest winds are predicted, with speeds of 25 to 30 mph and occasional gusts up to 45 mph, the NWS said.
Strong winds might cause difficult driving on north-south highways and interstates. Loose objects might be blown around, and minor property or tree damage could occur.
Travelers, especially those in high-profile vehicles, are urged to use extra caution.
