Winter weather advisory in effect until 7 a.m. Monday

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Des Moines has issued a winter weather advisory for Sunday night in Monday morning for northern and central Iowa, including Perry and all of Dallas County, with a forecast of up to 1 inch of snow and ice accumulations up to one-tenth inch.

The advisory will be in effect until Monday, April 9 at 7 a.m.

The snow and ice will result in hazardous travel conditions, especially on bridges and elevated surfaces. Travelers should expect slippery roads and limited visibilities.

The NWS encourages motorists to use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
