Brett Lane LeMaster, 28, of Woodward was arrested Saturday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.

A Woodward man allegedly assaulted a Woodward woman in front of a child Saturday evening.

Brett Lane LeMaster, 28, of 511 Ironwood Ave., Woodward, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.

According to court records, the alleged assault took place about 5:45 p.m. Saturday in the 511 block of Ironwood Avenue, where the female victim was “struck in the head and face multiple times” by LeMaster, causing “bruising, abrasions, a cut and swelling.”

The victim told Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs that the alleged assault occurred in front of a child, which the state believes “causes a substantial risk to the child’s mental or emotional health or safety,” according to court records.

LeMaster was held in the Dallas County Jail before he was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for arraignment July 27 in Dallas County District Court.
