Robert Laff Green III, 25, of Woodward was arrested Monday by an officer of the Woodward Police Department on charges of public intoxication, interference with official acts and firework violation.

Green was given a verbal warning Friday night about violating the city’s fireworks ordinance, according to Woodward Police Chief Joe Cox. At a Monday night party at his residence, Green was shooting fireworks over the neighbors’ house and started an argument with the neighbors, Cox said.

When confronted Monday evening, Green allegedly walked away from Cox and brazenly shot off a firework in front of the law enforcement officer.

Cox said Green resisted arrest, but no deployment of non-lethal tools was required to take the suspect into custody.

Green was booked at the Dallas County Jail and later released on bond.
